F.A.Q.

Looking for answers? We have them listed below as well as what to ask your contractor.

Unfortunately, that is an extremely loaded question. That depends on several factors, such as using prefabbed or hand made cabinetry — items on backorder, does plumbing or electrical have to be moved, and the weather just to name a few.

Again, another loaded question since a lot depends on materials and level of craftsmanship.

Full bathroom remodels can be done on a budget as little as $10k for prefabbed "Big Box Store" vanities and plastic tubs and surrounds.

The same-sized bathroom can cost $100k+ for hand made exotic wood cabinetry, luxury flooring, rare natural stone vanity tops, heated floors, and faux painting and custom milled trim work.

So where some might think a contractor is evading the answer to the "how much is going to cost" question, hopefully, you can now see why the multiple variables in products and services used greatly effects the final price.

It helps to know your max budget as well as ask how you can help get costs down. By us knowing your max budget, it isn't for us to know "how much we can milk this client for" as one potential customer tried telling me once, but rather how we can help you achieve your wants and needs.

Needless to say, the minute that one customer said that to me, was when I answered back politely "I am truly sorry you feel that way, but it appears that we are not going to be a good fit for each other."

But as Sailor Jerry so eloquently put it " Good work ain't cheap and cheap work ain't good."

We by far, are not the most expensive, but we aren't the cheapest as well. The value though is what keeps us booked out several months in advance since the value we provide is second to none.

Kitchens not so much unless there are change orders.

Bathrooms, on the other hand, is where it's easy to go over budget. Many times the shower, tub, vanity, and toilet are the culprits.

Since we are unable to see what's going on behind existing items, we don't know if plumbing was installed up to code.

The biggest culprit for overbudget bathrooms is shower issues with waterproofing and wood rot. All items that require us to repair first for us to move forward all cost time and material. Unfortunately.

If needed, we will help you secure the proper permits as well as handle the walkthroughs with building inspectors.

Communication. Period. In this day of text, facebook messenger, email, etc. It's too easy for things to fall through the cracks. Miscommunication is the #1 reason that leads to frustration. We use a project management software that is easy to use and downloads onto your phone.

All communication is handled through it. You can see the progress of each item on your project itemized. Make comments on particular items. Sign change orders and everything stays in its proper feed.

We are a state of South Carolina Licensed contractor since 2008. Our license number is 507509. Before hiring ANY contractor, make sure they are not only licensed but as well they are bonded and insured as well.

The short answer is over a decade. The long answer is we just merged our old company CMG Remodels, Inc. to Bluffton Kitchen And Bath, LLC. within the year.

We used to handle all types of remodeling work, but as I age, the less I want to work in the heat lifting heavy items.

We prefer doing interior work and instead of being a "jack of all trades" we specialize in just kitchens and bathroom remodels.

That being said, depending on the job and our schedule, run it past us, and we can take a look at it.

The answer is always no unless you ask. If we don't have the time frame to do it, we can point you in the right direction of other contractors we feel confident will provide you the same level of service.

Our family has been here for nearly 30 years. I went to high school at Hilton Head High and graduated Class of 99' as well as took building construction and architecture at the career education center my Junior and Senior year.

No. As an owner-operator as well as having an excellent crew, I'm on-site nearly daily, and my guys have been with us for quite some time since I pay them what they are worth. I do leave the heavy items to the young bucks though.
